Created in collaboration with the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, the installation marked fifteen years of Rimzim Dadu's material research. Expanding beyond the garment, the project transformed the studio's textile language into an immersive spatial experience.
THE MILESTONE
Founded in 2007, Rimzim Dadu redefined textile construction through engineered surfaces, metallic cords, and sculptural forms. Fifteen years later, the installation brought this evolving language together - tracing a journey shaped by experimentation, material innovation, and contemporary craft.
FROM TEXTILE TO SPACE
What began as an investigation into constructed textiles evolved into an architectural environment. Signature materials were translated beyond the body, allowing structure, movement, and scale to exist independently of the garment.
THE INSTALLATION
Suspended forms, layered surfaces, and engineered movement transformed the gallery into a material landscape. Textile became space, inviting viewers to experience the studio's language beyond couture.
THE MAKING
Developed through the same process that defines every Rimzim Dadu piece, the installation emerged through research, repetition, and construction by hand. Material remained the starting point, method, and outcome.
THE PRESENTATION
Presented as part of the studio's fifteenth anniversary celebration, the project brought together fashion, design, and contemporary art. The installation became a reflection of the house's continuing evolution.
BEYOND THE GARMENT
Over the years, the studio's work has extended beyond couture into exhibitions, installations, and interdisciplinary collaborations. The KNMA project marked a significant chapter in that journey - where material research became environment and garment became experience.
