MAKING OF
Construction remains visible throughout the process. Units are repeated, adjusted, and layered until the surface begins to behave as one continuous form.
The Shape of Becoming studies how form evolves through repetition. Each piece begins from a singular unit - multiplied, organised, and expanded into larger structures. What appears fluid is built through precision: controlled placement, tension, and gradual transformation from rigidity into movement.
The Shape of Becoming is not about finished form, but continuous evolution - where material, structure, and movement remain in transition.
THE CHIFFON CORD
First explored in 2009, the signature chiffon cord returns as a foundational technique in The Shape of Becoming. Chiffon is torn into fine strips, twisted into cords, and stitched together repeatedly to construct surface from line.
